FODOM VALLEY.

Skiing

Arabba, in the heart of Dolomiti Superski, offers 63 km of slopes for everyone: from the technical Fodoma to the panoramic Ornella, and the relaxing Salere. This resort is also an access point to the Sellaronda circuit, which allows you to ski around the Sella massif through four Dolomite valleys: Val di Fassa, Val Gardena, Alta Badia and Arabba.

The modern and fast ski lifts guarantee quick, wait-free access to the slopes. For example, Porta Vescovo gondola connects the centre of Arabba to the highest slopes, while Campolongo chairlift takes you to the slopes of the Campolongo Pass, a perfect area for skiing in complete tranquillity.

Snowshoeing and cross-country skiing

Do you want something different from classic alpine skiing? Put on snowshoes and let yourself be captivated by panoramic trails, such as Viel del Pan, which offers breathtaking views of the Marmolada glacier and the surrounding valley.

If, on the other hand, you love the relaxing rhythm of cross-country skiing, you will find three tracks of different difficulty at Malga Ciapela among the beautiful woods of the valley. For those more adventurous, ski mountaineering is an experience not to be missed: ascents to the Marmolada or Col di Lana will take you to experience the thrill of fresh snow and off-piste tracks at high altitude.

Local culture

Between mountain huts and Christmas markets

Arabba is a tourist destination rich in gastronomic experiences. During Christmas it is also a strategic point for visiting the nearby markets (Corvara, San Cassiano, Brunico, Ortisei) where you can find local handicrafts, Christmas decorations and specialities such as speck, cheese, mulled wine and typical sweets. On this occasion, you cannot miss events dedicated to the Krampus, traditional alpine figures who animate the streets with their costumes and cowbells.

After a day spent in the snow or strolling among the stalls, enjoy a hot meal in one of the mountain huts such as Bec de Roces, Burz and Plan Boè. You can enjoy typical Ladin dishes such as canederli, polenta with mushrooms, gulasch, apple strudel, zelten or apple fritters while gazing at the starry sky.
